1a Demonstrating Knowledge of Content and Pedagogy

Through my different courses at Rutgers, I have constantly referred back to these texts to continuously shape who I am as an educator.

1b Demonstrating Knowledge of Students

To the right is my edTPA Task 1 commentaries, where I justify my lesson plans with knowledge of my students. I planned my lessons with my students needs and interests at the forefront of my planning. Throughout this commentary, I display a wealth of knowledge about my students.

1c Setting Instructional Outcome

Each of my lessons align with the outcomes of the New Jersey Standards and National Core Arts Standards to Create, Connect, Respond, and Perform. Additionally, Social Justice Standards are utilized to create instructional outcomes about Identity, Diversity, Justice, and Action.

1d Demonstrating Knowledge of Resources

I created a mini unit about the Critical Response Process for Dance III in my clinical internship. I used Liz Lerman's book as a resource to create a lesson plan where students develop ways to discuss choreography and feedback effectively.

1e Designing Coherent Instruction

This is a short clip demonstrated my ability to teach a jazz combination to freshman dancers. This class was taught in a hybrid setting where I designed coherent instruction for both learning settings.
