3a Communicating with Students
My main form of communication with students was through Zoom or Google Classroom. Here are a few examples of how I primarily communicated with students!
3b Using Questioning and Discussion Techniques
Students grew in my class by examining their choreographic choices, discussing feedback, and lots more! To the right is our discussion board after discussing the importance of revision in choreography.
3c Engaging Students in Learning
Here students are learning phrase work in order to identify different motif actions. All students are engaged within the learning process.
3d Using Assessment in Instruction
Formative and summative assessments are crucial within the classroom to measure learning. Formative assessments embedded in the lesson plan allow the teacher to adapt instruction to the students needs. This slide is a vocabulary review for middle school students. Students watch a short video of a step then fill in the blank as a class.
3e Demonstrating Flexibility and Responsiveness
Halfway through the semester, I checked in on my students to see how they're feeling about their dance studies. Based off of student's responses the lesson was molded to discuss, reflect, and adjust to their needs.
